After many years of service as a teacher and counselor, I transitioned into the fitness profession to help and inspire people of all fitness levels achieve lasting physical wellness. I hold certifications in Spin, Personal Training (AFAA), and Kickboxing, and recently earned my Pilates Reformer certification. I’m currently pursuing a Flexibility Certification to further expand my expertise.

My fitness career began in 2005, when I launched outdoor strength and conditioning classes to help women regain strength and confidence after childbirth. I also created running programs and interval workouts to prepare individuals and small groups for races of all distances. Over the years, I have trained both men and women at a local personal training studio, founded Fit Mom Circuit Training (a women’s-only bootcamp with co-ed spin classes and kids’ fitness programs), and eventually combined all of my services under one roof at Thomas Moreland Fitness. Most recently, I rebranded my business as Melanie Thomas Fitness, LLC and now operate from my Lutherville location.

I offer a women’s-only bootcamp designed to focus on what matters most to my clients—feeling strong and confident, looking fit and toned, learning how to nourish their bodies and families with healthy foods, and doing it all in a motivating, supportive, and fun environment. I also lead high-energy spin classes for men, women, and kids, as well as small-group and personal training sessions for clients who prefer individualized attention and customized workout plans.

Anyone I train—or who knows me personally—will tell you I’m highly motivated and never give up. Over 50 and a mother of three, I’m in the best shape of my life: I eat well, have more energy, run faster, and lift heavier than ever. I truly love helping others reach their fitness goals, and I draw on my life experience, certifications, and ongoing education to provide a solid, results-driven foundation for every client.
